The new web site is up and running,it looks good, at last the grandchildren go home today, it has been a bit of a juggling act geting breakfast for guests and getting them off to school, common complaint is we don't do that at home, when with me Granny's rules rule ok.

Farm update

It seems such a long time since I posted a blog,

the garden is at last taking shape, and the water feature is much admired by my guests.

The last of the silage is being done at this moment, that will be the 3rd cut, it will just leave one field of wheat to cut, the rest of the corn has either been crimped or put into the whole crop pit ready for the winter feed for the cows.

Rams go to market on Wednesday, and we say goodbye to daughter Fiona and Max and Amy as they make their way back to Hong Kong, not before I get all 7 grandchildren together for a photo something that I have been trying to do for ages, I had hoped they would do something for our 40th anniversary, but it is left up to me to sort, so fun and games tomorrow as I am sure that Sam would rather be out with Grandad on the farm.

Men and Gardening

How is it that when the men get into the garden, everything seems to have to be done with the digger. My dear husband of nearly 40yrs decided to dig the foundations for the wall to be built outside, it will be lovely when it is done. But first of all their is a bit of hedge in the way, so as not to open the garden up too much to the road they just pushed the piece of hedge concerned inwards. Now we shall either have a lovely green piece of hedge, or as I suspect a brown dead looking piece, unless that is of coarse unless it rains, which at the moment seems highly unlikely.
I must admit the visibility outside is better, I hope that the Jenny wrens will return tomorrow. I will post a photo tomorrow.

Garden update

Tuesday 12th The weather has been lovely again, Sam and Grandad have been getting the ground ready for some grass seed, we may have some rain, the plants will be very glad. Grandad started to draw his pension on the 12th, so he needs all the help he can get. We are off to see Shaun the sheep, in Plymouth. Why not stay on a farm, with Farm Stay, and get a Shaun activity pack for the children or grandchildren.

Winter Weather

The weather has been like a picture post card very very frosty, not like this photo that was taken in February, I am glad to say, it makes it so hard to get around and feed the animals if their is a lot of snow. I have just had this photo printed for our Christmas Cards, the trouble is what to do for next year.
